Queen to open Palace garden for tours
For the first time in 200 years, the Queen is to open the gardens of Buckingham Palace. Visitors will be able to take a guided tour of what has been called 'a walled oasis in the middle of London'. At 39 acres with a central lake, it is the largest private garden in the capital with more than 350 types of wild flowers and 150 mature trees. Visitors will also be able to see the palace tennis court where George VI played against Fred Perry in the 1930's.
