The D-Day Landings
As dawn broke on 6th June 1944, Europe was still in the cast-iron grip of Nazism. The seemingly impregnable Atlantic Wall still held strong. The end of the war seemed a distant hope. However, by the end of that same day, the skill and courage of Allied Forces had established a precious foothold back in France. It was to be the beginning of the end of the Second World War....

The Eighth & Ninth Air Force
For almost three years, the Eighth Air Force had fought a most harsh, harrowing and costly battle and in the process it lost well over 40,000 airmen. The ultimate sacrifice made by these brave young Americans has not been forgotton. Countless poignant and dignified memorials abound in the eastern counties, most of them discreetly placed close to the sites of the old airfields which were the airmen's homes during those grim wartime days....
